Tracey Collyer joined Brandon University’s Department of Nursing in August 2004, as a full-time Instructional Associate. Prior to that she was employed with the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Nursing (Student Advisor), Brandon Regional Health Centre (staff nurse) and Dauphin Regional Health Centre (staff nurse).

Tracey obtained her Registered Nursing (RN) Diploma from the Brandon General Hospital School of Nursing in 1994 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (with Great Distinction) from Brandon University in 1997.

Currently, Tracey’s main role is as Student Advisor for the Bachelor of Nursing (undergraduate) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Post-Diploma) programs. She advises students on program planning, financial assistance, course selection, organization and time management. Tracey feels that meeting with new students and providing guidance and support as they progress through the program is both interesting and rewarding. She is also involved in planning and organizing clinical placements for the BN program.

Tracey is an active member of several committees at Brandon University. Involvement in committees relating to admissions, program policies, curriculum and awards/scholarships provide her with current and accurate knowledge that subsequently can be communicated to students. More recently, Tracey has enjoyed participating in the Student Leader Program, as one of the Student Leader Coordinators.
