We welcome to the lab Nicole Russel who was awarded a prestigious NSERC-USRA!\u00a0 Well done Nicole!\u00a0 We also welcome to the lab Joel Hardy who was awarded a prestigious CHRIM<\/a> undergraduate summer studentship! Congrats Joel!<\/p>\n

Last but not least, Taylor Goodon returns to the lab with her second!!! NSERC-USRA! Well done Taylor! and thrilled to have you back!<\/p>\n

April 11th, 2020:<\/strong>\u00a0Congrats to our amazing honours student, Derek Harris, who just got into Med School at the University of Manitoba!!!\u00a0 Congrats Derek!\u00a0 He will join a bumper crop of other fantastic Brandon University students who also got in this year!!!<\/p>\n

April 23rd, 2020:<\/strong> Dr. Susan J. Baserga, M.D.\/Ph.D<\/a>, the Post-Doc mentor of Dr. Charette, is appointed as the endowed William H. Fleming, M.D. Professor of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry<\/a>\u00a0 at Yale Medical School. Congrats Susan!<\/p>\n\"\"<\/a>\n

April 10th, 2020:<\/strong> The week of April 6th to 10th is “Children’s Hospital Week in Canada”. As a member of the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM)<\/a>,\u00a0 the Charette l<\/span>ab is doing its part to support child health through research on childhood diseases, namely ribosomopathies and Bowen-Conradi Syndrome. #ChildrensHospitalsWeekCanada.<\/p>\n\"\"\n

August 13, 2015:<\/strong> \u00a0Dr. Charette’s post-doc supervisor, Dr. Susan Baserga<\/a> at Yale Med School has been awarded the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology’s (ASBMB) William C. Rose Award for “outstanding contributions to biochemical and molecular biological research and a demonstrated commitment to the training of younger scientists.” \u00a0We can attest to how deserving Dr. Baserga is of this award for her excellence in research and for her unwavering emphasis and dedication to mentoring. \u00a0This rare combination of scientific excellence and commitment to mentorship has resulted in a generation of successful junior PIs in prestigious university professorships through the US, Canada, and Europe – including our very own Dr. Charette. \u00a0Dr. Baserga is set to give a lecture and receive her award on April 5th, 2016 at the Annual Meeting of the ASBMB in San Diego. \u00a0Congrats Susan!! !
