Online Stellar Spectra Atlases

The following spectral atlases are available. The high S/N atlases are under construction. For the moment only Deneb is available. Vega and o Peg are near completion and several others still have further wavelength sections to be observed. It should be noted that additional sections may be added to any of these at some future time.

High S/N Reticon and CCD Stellar Spectra Atlases

The spectral atlases below were constructed by coadding and abutting Reticon and CCD exposures taken with the 9682 spectrograph at the coude of the 1.2-m telescope of the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory. The resolution is approximately 0.078 A and the S/N varies between 800 for o Peg up to 3400 for Vega. These S/N values vary from one wavelength section to another. Tools are included for the manipulation of the spectra. The line identification for Deneb is described in (reference to be included).

Lower S/N Photographic Stellar Spectra Atlases

The spectral atlases below were constructed by coadding various numbers (given in brackets) of IIIa-J plates exposed with the 3282 spectrograph at the coude of the 1.2-m telescope of the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory. The resolution is approximately 0.2 A and the S/N on the order of 100 – 200.

Tools are included for the manipulation of the spectra. Most of the stars have accompanying line identifications produced using the line identification software described in Gulliver and Stadel. Filtered versions of the spectra will also be available in the near future.
