A Customized Spectroscopic CCD Reduction Package

A reduction package has been designed specifically for CCD observations of astronomical spectra. A point spread function is determined and used in locating the centroid of the spectrum along the dispersion allowing straightening. Spectrograph scattered light is modeled and subtracted from the stellar spectrum. Almost completely automatic extraction of cosmic rays is achieved for individual exposures. Two-dimensional spectra are reduced to one-dimensional form using an optimally-weighted extraction algorithm.
