I have been at Brandon University since July 2014. I am a forensic anthropologist and work with the Manitoba Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the RCMP, First Nations Police and the Winnipeg Police Service. I have research experience in juvenile osteology, growth and development, mortality bias, population health and the archaeology of children and childhood. I am also an ongoing consultant for Drag the Red; an Indigenous led grassroots organization\u00a0\u00a0 that is devoted to dragging the Red River and searching the associated shoreline for evidence of missing people.<\/p>\n

I have also worked with the Manitoba Museum and the Historic Resources Branch of Manitoba. In this position I conduct the required skeletal analysis of archaeological individuals to ensure their repatriation.<\/p>\n

I am committed to a high level of teaching and research and seek as many opportunities as possible to incorporate my students into the practical applied component of my work. Forensic Anthropology:<\/strong> search and recovery, taphonomy, time since death, methods of skeletal analysis, identification and interpretation of neglect and abuse in juvenile skeletal remains, identification and interpretation of trauma, incorporating technology into search strategies and scene and grave documentation.<\/p>\n

Bioarchaeology:<\/strong>\u00a0growth and development, population health, child health and adult morbidity and mortality, \u00a0children and childhood,\u00a0palaeopathology and the application of technology to documenting and analyzing human skeletal remains<\/p>\n
