The CCPG is an autonomous federation of Provincial and Territorial professional associations whose primary functions are to serve and protect the public welfare and provide services to members. It is the Geoscience Advisory Board to all Provincial and Territorial Professional Engineering and Geoscience Associations, and develops policy recommendations for the regulation of Geoscience in Canada. Important tasks carried out by various Committees and Task Forces of the CCPG include establishing minimum acceptable national standards for education and admission, removal of interprovincial barriers to the mobility of Geoscientists across Canada, liaison between Provincial and International jurisdictions, and the enhancement and promotion of Professional Geoscience in Canada.
