Dr. Sheila Novek is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatric Nursing at Brandon University (Winnipeg Campus).  Sheila’s program of research employs critical qualitative methods to explore the experiences of older adults, people living with dementia, family carers, and health care providers across community and long-term care settings. She is the Principal Investigator of a SSHRC Insight Development Grant exploring citizenship and engagement in long-term care.
