TUBACHRISTMAS IS BACK!
Brandon’s TUBACHRISTMAS will be held on Saturday, December 4th at the Green Spot.
After having to take a year off due to the pandemic, we ask you to dust off those instruments and join us for some low brass merry making. Christmas attire for both you and your instrument are highly encouraged.
We are partnering with Chez Angela this year to put on show at their new Secret Garden location at the Green Spot. Both the rehearsal and the performance will take place there.
The registration fee will be $5 for all participants. Advanced registration is available here.
9:30-11:00 Rehearsal (for both the advanced and beginning group)
12:00-1:00 Performance for the public
You are welcome to bring your own lunch, but food will be available for purchase from Chez Angela. There will be plenty of room for participants to space themselves out in accordance to their social distance comfort level.
Chez Angela will have the following selections available for $10 or less (plus tax)
- Grilled French Toast – 2 slices of croissant loaf made into French Toast, grilled and served with whipped maple cream cheese
- Quiche and Soup – Feature quiche in our all-butter crust with our soup of the day
- The 29C – Butter croissant with local corned beef, local cheese, local mustard and a touch of mayo
- The Rustic Italian – Fresh-baked ciabatta with three kinds of salami, provolone and pesto (contains pine nuts)
- Jambon Fromage – Traditional French baguette with locally cured ham and premium Quebec brie and a bit of Notre Dame Creamery butter
- Veggie Wedge – All. The. Veggies. Loaded up on a baguette and served with our in-house dressing
Lunch combos (sandwich, salad or soup, cookie, and canned drink) will be available for $15
Additionally, canned drinks, coffee drinks, hot chocolate, and more will be available for prices ranging from $1.50-$8
Lastly, the Secret Garden Cafe will be stocked with an assortment of delicious pastries and treats available for performers and audience members.
What You’ll Need
We will be providing chairs and stands. The only thing you’ll need to bring is your instrument (and you Christmas spirit!).
We will have paper copies available for anyone who needs them. All participants are encouraged to look at the music ahead of time to determine which ensemble best fits their ability level. Generally speaking, players who have only been playing for a few weeks or just getting reacquainted with the instrument after being off of it during Covid are encouraged to join the beginner ensemble. Those who have a few years of experience should consider the advanced ensemble.
Covid Details for Participants
All participants are required to show proof of vaccination. Kids under the age of 12 are prohibited from participating this year because of vaccine eligibility. The Green Spot does not have a vaccine requirement, so those kids are welcome to watch the performance. With an event like this, we all need to do our best to keep it safe for everybody involved. We will space out as much as possible during the rehearsal, performance, and lunch session. Masks will be required when not eating or playing. Bell covers are encouraged, but not required. All participants will stay in the performance/rehearsal area until the end of the concert.
Covid Details for Audience Members
Family and friends are encouraged to join us for the noon time concert. Feel free to show up before and stick around after to shop and have lunch. Vaccination is encouraged, but the Green Spot does not require it, so you’ll be able to watch the concert without worrying about that. Performers will be kept apart from audience members until the end of the concert.
